What to do if the hydraulic system pressure is insufficient

Aug 17, 2023

The main manifestations of insufficient pressure in the hydraulic system are insufficient output force and insufficient torque. What is the reason for the insufficient pressure in the hydraulic system? In fact, the failure of insufficient pressure in the hydraulic system is often due to mechanical components, oil suction and return pipelines, control valves, hydraulic oil, and other parts.

Analysis of reasons for insufficient hydraulic system pressure:

1. Due to frequent use of a certain section of the working stroke, the straightness of the inner diameter of the hydraulic cylinder is poor (locally with a waist drum shape), resulting in the interconnection of high and low pressure oil in the hydraulic cylinder. The inner diameter of the hydraulic cylinder should be repaired by boring and grinding, and a single piston should be equipped.

2. If there is air intrusion in the cylinder, an exhaust device should be added or the hydraulic cylinder should move rapidly at its maximum stroke to force the air out.

3. The temperature rise of the oil in the hydraulic cylinder is too high, and the viscosity decreases, resulting in an increase in leakage; Or due to excessive impurities, the piston and piston rod may become stuck. Measures such as heat dissipation and cooling should be taken to replace the oil.

4. The sealing ring at the end cover of the hydraulic cylinder is pressed too tightly or too loosely. The sealing ring should be adjusted to have appropriate tightness to ensure that the piston rod can be pulled back smoothly without leakage by hand.

5. The coaxiality between the piston and piston rod is not good and should be corrected and adjusted.

6. Excessive piston fit clearance or damaged sealing device, resulting in internal leakage. The fit clearance should be reduced and the seals replaced.

7. The piston fit clearance is too small, the seal is too tight, and the movement resistance is increased. The fit gap should be increased and the tightness of the seal should be adjusted.

8. The piston rod is bent, causing severe friction. The piston rod should be straightened.

The above are the reasons for the insufficient pressure in the hydraulic system, of course, this is only part of the reason. If you encounter a situation of insufficient pressure in the hydraulic system during work and cannot find the cause, please contact us for consultation and solutions.
