Reasons And Solutions For Crawling Phenomenon During Hydraulic Cylinder Operation
Aug 20, 2023
A hydraulic cylinder is a hydraulic actuator that converts hydraulic energy into mechanical energy and performs linear reciprocating motion (or swing motion). It has a simple structure and reliable operation. When using it to complete reciprocating motion, it can avoid deceleration equipment, and has no transmission gap, making the motion smooth. Therefore, it is widely used in various mechanical hydraulic systems. The output force of the hydraulic cylinder is proportional to the effective area of the piston and the pressure difference on both sides; Hydraulic cylinders are basically composed of cylinder barrels and cylinder heads, pistons and piston rods, sealing equipment, buffering equipment, and exhaust equipment. The factors and cleaning methods for the creeping phenomenon during hydraulic cylinder operation are as follows:
(1) There is air intrusion in the cylinder. Additional exhaust equipment should be installed to allow the hydraulic cylinder to move rapidly with its stroke, forcing the air to be swept away.
(2) The sealing ring at the end cover of the hydraulic cylinder is pressed too tightly or too loosely. The sealing ring should be adjusted to have appropriate tightness to ensure that the piston rod can be pulled back and forth smoothly without leakage by hand.
(3) The coaxiality between the piston and piston rod is not good. Should be proofread and adjusted.
(4) The hydraulic cylinder device is not parallel to the guide rail. Adjustments or reinstallations should be made.
(5) The piston rod twists and turns. The piston rod should be straightened.
(6) Poor rigidity of the piston rod. Increase the diameter of the piston rod.
(7) Excessive clearance between moving parts of hydraulic cylinders. Cooperation gaps should be reduced.
(8) The device orientation of the hydraulic cylinder is offset. The parallelism between the hydraulic cylinder and the guide rail should be checked and calibrated.
(9) Linear difference in inner diameter of hydraulic cylinders (drum shaped, conical, etc.). It should be corrected and the piston should be reassembled.
